Educating
Nurturing Empowering
Our Committees:
The Education
Committee
not only involves training other volunteers, but also speaking
to community organizations such as women and singles groups,
churches, government agencies, and other civic groups. This committee
is also responsible for updating the Tri-State AIDS Task Force
on recent medical developments as it relates to HIV/AIDS.
The Fundraising
Committee
helps raise funds for the Tri-State AIDS Task Force. All money
raised goes directly to client services, which provides those
living with HIV/AIDS money for housing, utilities, food, clothing,
and other basic necessities.
Our Direct
Services Committee
consist of very special, dedicated volunteers who give at least
two days a week to help a person living with HIV/AIDS. The majority
of direct service is done through the buddy program, which pairs
volunteers with PLWA. Volunteers go into the home and provide
any service needed, such as cooking, doing the dishes, straightening
the house or just being there to talk to and share feelings and
fears. |
