The Tri-State AIDS Task Force offers
support to individuals and families dealing with AIDS by placing
them in contact with one another for peer-based support as well
as providing a list of available professional services, such
as grief counseling.
TSATF also can help people living with
AIDS to find healthy ways to express their grief through action
and involvement in the HIV/AIDS education process in the communities
in which they live.
Through TSATF's buddy program, people
living with AIDS can have an uninvolved person to spend time
with to let off steam in healthy ways. Stress is more significant
problem for people living with AIDS than many people not affected
by the disease might readily understand; and all people living
with AIDS start as people who are unaffected by the disease.
People living with AIDS are people, they
have needs and problems other than HIV/AIDS. Tri-State AIDS Task
Force is working together with many community organizations to
address all their needs.
